The 13th annual Battle of the CowlArtz student arts and crafts show featured current student work from Toledo and Winlock high schools. The show was held on Mother's Day weekend at the Morgan Arts Centre and was sponsored by ARTrails of SW Washington. In all there were six categories comprising of 116 Entries.
This year's Grand Marshals of the 2019 Winlock Egg Day Parade are definitely deserving of the honor of the title of Grand Marshals. Randy and Carrie Pennington have both given so much to the community, if you have lived here for any length of time, you have probably met either or both of them.
The Winlock Saturday Market is starting its 4th season beginning this Saturday, June 1 at 10:00 a.m... If you have never been to the market, you are missing out. This year the market will offer many wonderful local vendors that will offer a variety of items.
The Raymond Weyerhauser Mill sustained a fire in a chip bin on Tuesday, May 21 at approximately 6:23 a.m. The Raymond Fire Department along with Pacific County Fire District 3 responded to the scene with fire engines and tenders to battle the fire. An outside agency was also requested to assist with the fire.
Washington State 19th District Representative Jim Walsh (R) gave a media tour on Tuesday, May 14 to news outlets within his district. During the tour, he answered various questions including the tight race he faced with challenger Erin Frasier and what he accomplished at the capital during the recent session. He also spoke about challenges facing Pacific County and how he is working to help improve the economy.
