A recent article in the Town Crier regarding the Winlock Mayor about a letter on city letterhead prompted Winlock City Clerk Tedi Curry to send an email to the former publisher of the Town Crier Pat Myers. The Town Crier was in disbelief that a city clerk would send an email to the media source that has been concerned about the operations of the mayor and his administration.
Sahara Pizza is open for business with delivery to Winlock, Toledo and Vader. When Sahara first opened, they were only able to deliver in Winlock as they did not have enough drivers. Now they are fully operational and delivering to new areas.
Vader May Day was a huge success this past weekend, several hundred people came from all over to watch and participate in the parade and events over the weekend. The event was larger than last year with more activities throughout the day.
The Pacific County Fair is about to get a major makeover after being awarded a $210,000 grant. The funds will be used to replace the roofing on five buildings at the fairgrounds. It will be the second project undertaken this year with a lighting project slated to start sometime this month.
Pacific County is known for some of the wildest roads in the state and the past week has added to that assumption. Three accidents occured over five days with two of them involving injuries. Both local police and fire departments have kept busy responding to incidents.
The Willapa Brewing Company has built an expansion to the business in South Bend and the public noticed quickly. The new location gives the brewery its own location to market its popular beer brews and pizza. Doors officially opened on Friday, May 3 after an entire day of curious residents knocking at the door trying to get in.
