City of Winlock meeting erupts onto the street

Monday evening's, February 25, 2019 council meeting was anything but boring, before and after. Mayor Bradshaw admitted on the record he does not follow his own ordinance and stated he would continue to not follow it. Lewis County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer finds Councilwoman Jodie Curtis was illegally appointed, yet Mayor Bradshaw allowed her to vote that evening. Finally, verbal altercations occured in the street after the meeting by Mayor Pro Tem Connie Sneed.

Monday, February 25, Winlock City Council Meeting was a shock to anyone sitting in the audience. The meeting started with councilwoman Anne Randt speaking about issues of corruption in City Hall. She stated "I have been a part of the appointments for previous council members where Mayor Bradshaw stated these are the applications, I have interviewed the applicants.

TNS Archery Outdoors is open in Winlock. They opened approximately one month ago with the hopes of bringing more individuals to the sport. Located at 705 NW Kerron Street, they offer different products along with a range to shoot your bow.

Eagles of all sorts have flocked to the area

Eagles of all sorts have flocked to the area

Commuters driving along State Route 6 near Menlo have been bombarded with views of eagles of all sorts the past week flying through the sky. Others have been seen perched atop trees along the river and creeks. One driver was even startled by one sitting on the side of the road. The sightings have only increased and many have been wondering why so many.

Fire in janitor closet leads to flooded classrooms

The Raymond School District had quite the fiasco on Monday, March 4 after a small fire broke out in a janitor closet of the Junior High School. According to the Raymond School Districts Facebook page two classrooms sustained water damage. A clean up/restoration team was sent to the district late in the afternoon to survey the damage.

Local firefighter raises money for stairclimb

7th Street Coffee in Raymond was taken over by Raymond Fire Department Firefighter/Paramedic Raela McVey on the morning of Monday, March 4. McVey was raising money for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society Firefighter Stair Climb. The takeover ran from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. with 20% of sales during the take over going to the fundraiser.
