Winlock Timberland library has a new interim librarian, Chris Chrzan is new to Winlock but is not new to Timberland Regional Library organization.
Chris started at Timberland Library in Centralia in 2013 as an adult services librarian, where he still works on Monday. Chris is at the Winlock Timberland Regional Library Tuesday through Friday.
Many students of the Toledo High School are just as passionate about the school bond as the staff, and many of them have a word or two to say about it.
Friday, October 19 at approximately 12:53 p.m. a bomb threat was called into the Pacific County Communications Center (PacCom). The caller stated that a bomb was set to go off at 1:00 p.m. at the Pacific County Courthouse. The caller also stated that two additional explosive devices would be detonated every 45 minutes.
According to Pacific County Sheriff Scott Johnson the caller was believed to of used a 'Spook' phone with an untraceable phone number. "We take these things very seriously," Johnson said. "I feel we were very prepared for it and things went smoothly. We have already met and talked about things we could have done better."
Thursday, October 11 a wildfire erupted roughly 2 miles up Elk Prairie Road at a recently logged site. Piles of brush that were burning set nearby debris on fire but did not endanger a nearby residence. Multiple units from Pacific County Fire District 3 and Lebam Fire Station responded to the fire.
