Crime rate high in Winlock

A recent article by The Chronicle shows that Winlock has a higher violent crime rate than any other small city in Lewis County (excluding Centralia), while Toledo and Napavine their neighboring cities had zero violent crimes in 2016.

Giving Tree for foster kids

We have seen giving Christmas Trees which give gifts to families in the area but this is the first time we are seeing a giving tree for foster kids in our area. Kristina Payne is in the process of getting her Bachelor's Degree in Children's Studies and the giving tree for foster kids is her senior project. Payne works at Donna's Place in Toledo and she asked Donna if they could do this together, they have been busy since they started.

Election results have been certified. Winlock has a new mayor and city council member. Don Bradshaw, write-in candidate, has succeeded in his quest to be Mayor of Winlock. It's very unusual for a write-in candidate to win especially when they decide to run after the campaign started.
