The Grays Harbor Sheriff's Office is trying to locate the owner of a home in rural Elma where a body was discovered Tuesday night. The incident is currently being investigated as a homicide. Sheriff Rick Scott has confirmed that the deceased male found near the residence was a 47-year-old Elma man. The name has not yet been released as next of kin has not been notified yet.

Elma - On Friday May 20th, 15 teams and 174 participants raised $38,753.83 for the American Cancer Society.

Raymond coaching icon Doug Makaiwi passed away Thursday at age 68 after a long battle with cancer. There will be a celebration of life Saturday, June 18, 2 pm at the Swiss Hall in Francis.

Items stolen were a Washington State Disabled Parking Placard along with a Taurus .38- handgun.

The Raymond City Council met on Monday, June 6 for a city council meeting, Mayor Dunsmoor lead the meeting with the pledge of allegiance. The first item that the council had scheduled on the agenda was communications, Clerk/Treasurer Hester Gilleland reported that there were no communications, but presented the unaudited annual report of 2015, which has been submitted to the state auditor's office.
