Body found in Elma yard; Elma man wanted

The Grays Harbor Sheriff's Office is trying to locate the owner of a home in rural Elma where a body was discovered Tuesday night. The incident is currently being investigated as a homicide. Sheriff Rick Scott has confirmed that the deceased male found near the residence was a 47-year-old Elma man. The name has not yet been released as next of kin has not been notified yet.

Elusive John Latch finally caught in Pacific County

A man by the name of John Latch has caused quite a stir between the counties of Grays Harbor and Pacific. The man has lead local law enforcement on a chase that has lasted from Thursday, May 19 until Thursday, May 26 and measured from Aberdeen to Brooklyn. It all started on Thursday, May 19 at around 11am as Grays Harbor County Sheriff's Deputies were called to a residence of the Olympic Highway area in reference to a vehicle prowl.

Grays Harbor County Receives RCDI Grant

The Rural Housing Service, an agency within the United States Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, recently awarded Grays Harbor County with a $249,000 grant as part of funding made available under the Rural Community Development Initiative program.

Malicious Mischief causes $50,000 in damage

On May 27 about 7:16 pm Aberdeen Police Officers responded to the restaurant at 212 S. I Street for a subject threatening to kill everyone in the restaurant.

Need to Know 6.8.16

A Home Fire Safety Workshop will be held at the Hoquiam Timberland Library on Friday, June 10 starting at 11am.

The Flag Day Parade will be held in Ocean Shores on Saturday, June 11 at 11am. There are over 80 entrants in this year's parade.

Jeffery Allen Oberg, 63, was charged with third-degree assault (domestic violence) and third-degree malicious mischief (domestic violence).

ATV driver charged with attempting to elude a pursuing police vehicle

An un-helmeted ATV rider took a trooper on a more than five mile chase along county roads, speeding and ignoring stop signs and finally cutting in front of the trooper's vehicle to travel up an off-road trail northeast of Winlock.

After the lack of solutions brought from the big internet meeting on April 8th, Winlock citizens and the Winlock Improvement Network are looking toward the next step in helping to fix the internet problems in Winlock. Steven M. Nowlen, 60 years old and of Toledo, appeared in Lewis County Superior Court yesterday in response to a summons, after learning he was accused for the second time of inappropriately touching a 5year-old girl almost 18 years ago.

After months of preparation, the Winlock Saturday Market surely was a big success. The community came out in big numbers to support the many vendors. Vendors sold woodwork, crafts, jewelry, pottery, and other arts and crafts. Fresh fruits and vegetables were also on sale for the great price offered by farmers markets.

Coaching icon, mentor, Doug Makaiwi, passes away: Will be remembered as a "gentle giant"

Raymond coaching icon Doug Makaiwi passed away Thursday at age 68 after a long battle with cancer. There will be a celebration of life Saturday, June 18, 2 pm at the Swiss Hall in Francis.

Items stolen were a Washington State Disabled Parking Placard along with a Taurus .38- handgun.

Member of public to improve skate park

The Raymond City Council met on Monday, June 6 for a city council meeting, Mayor Dunsmoor lead the meeting with the pledge of allegiance. The first item that the council had scheduled on the agenda was communications, Clerk/Treasurer Hester Gilleland reported that there were no communications, but presented the unaudited annual report of 2015, which has been submitted to the state auditor's office.
