Cause of brewery blaze still unknown
Photo by Patrick L. Myers - Just before Thanksgiving the Bogwater Brewery/Cranberry Road Winery went up in flames. The storms this winter have caused more damage to the burned building.
Cause of brewery blaze still unknown

The Bogwater Brewery and Cranberry Road Winery were found to be engulfed in flames on the evening of Tuesday, November 24. The fire cleared the inside of the building out, and caused considerable damage to the structure of the building. By the time the Grays Harbor Emergency Dispatch was notified at around 6pm, the building was already up in flames.

First council meeting of 2016

The Raymond City Council met for their first meeting of 2016. The meeting was started with the pledge of allegiance, after which the council rolled up their sleeves and attended to the agenda for the meeting. Council member Dee Roberts was absent, as well as Fire Chief Todd Strozyk.

Mossyrock rips Valley 74-39

Mossyrock throttled Willapa Valley 74-39 last Tuesday (Dec. 29) on the first day of the John Q. Pearson Holiday Classic in Tenoski Gym at Menlo.

After leading by a point after one quarter, Mossyrock outscored their host 60-26 the rest of the way, including 28-4 in the second quarter.

Smaciarz-led Vikes win twice at Pearson Classic

Willapa Valley roared by Pe Ell 46-34 at the Jack Q. Pearson Holiday Classic December 30. Alicia Smaciarz poured in 26 points to lead the victory. The Vikings won the game in the fourth quarter by outscoring the Lady Trojans 13-5.

South Bend topples Lady Trojans, loses to Mossyrock

South Bend opened with a win at the Jack Q. Pearson Holiday Classic tournament by downing Pe Ell 45-41 December 29 at Menlo. The Lady Indians came back from a six-point deficit in the fourth quarter.

The final reading was taken at the City of Raymond's Water Department at 9pm on New Year's Eve. The total amount of rain for 2015 was 83.01 inches and the December total was 19.09 inches.
