Commercial crab fishing delayed again on Washington's south coast

OLYMPIA - The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) is again delaying the commercial Dungeness crab fishery on a small section of Washington's southern coast.

Drum Major Going to London

McKenzie Brooks of Aberdeen High School is going off to London for New Year's Day with an All-American Marching Band consisting of drum majors from all over the U.S. The band will march through London and Brooks will have the honor of representing Grays Harbor, Washington and the United States of America while she's there.

Fourteen Arrested After Motel Raided in Aberdeen

Fourteen people were arrested at the Travelure Motel in Aberdeen. The Drug Task Force, Aberdeen Police Department, Hoquiam Police Department, Grays Harbor County Sherriff's Department, Cosmopolis Police Department, Department of Corrections, and the CRU team executed 3 search warrants at the Travelure Motel in Aberdeen.

Need to Know 12.16.15

Citizens in need of sandbags should come to the public works shop located behind the Hoquiam City Hall.

A few openings are still available in Grays Harbor College's new program, Commercial Food Prep, which begins in January at the start of Winter Quarter. Instructors will be Candi Bachtell, and her son, Josh Bachtell. The winter quarter courses will meet during evening hours Mondays through Fridays in the Culinary Arts area of Aberdeen High School.

On the night of December 9th the Napavine Tigers girls' basketball team traveled to the home of the Toledo Indians. At 7pm the two teams faced each other at the tip off for the start of the game.

2016 SB Budget Passes

The South Bend City Council met the evening of Monday, December 14. The council got started by first amending the agenda by omitting an item, "before we approve the agenda I would like to have a motion for the agenda amendment," said Mayor Struck.

WDFW tentatively plans razor clam dig starting Dec. 24 at Copalis Beach

Clam diggers will have an opportunity to dig for razor clams on Copalis Beach over the Christmas holiday if the next marine toxin test confirms the clams are safe to eat, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) announced Friday.
