Grayland woman sentenced for heroin

SOUTH BEND - Lola Savidge, 32, of Grayland, entered a guilty plea to possession of heroin and was sentenced to a year in prison followed by 12 months of community custody (probation), which will require completion of drug treatment.

Life Christian wins local golf match

Life Christian Academy defeated Adna, Willapa Valley and Raymond in boys golf at Willapa Harbor Golf Course March 26. The Eagles carded a round of 186 to win easily over the Pirates (213), Vikings (215) and Seagulls (240). Jens Crosier of Life Christian was the medalist with a round of 40.

Tri-District Meet Results Girls

Though it was a fairly regular meet for the rest of the girls at the track meet, Brooke Spoor broke a school record.

"At the Tri-District, we had some great performances. Brooke Spoor set a school record in the triple jump with a mark of 32-3.25, surpassing the record of 32-3 set by Laura Friese in 2002," said Willapa Valley Coach Ege.

Second graders visit NW Carriage Museum

Last Friday. second graders from Raymond Elementary (Mr. Shores and Mr. Griffin classes) visited the Northwest Carriage Museum. The students learned about horse drawn vehicles and life in the 19th century. They enjoyed churning butter and dressing up in period costume.
