Clerk of the Year!
South Bend Clerk Dee Roberts was chosen to be the Washington Municipal Clerks Association's Clerk of the Year on March 19. South Bend Mayor Julie Struck remarked, "This is a great honor."
The Raymond High School Humanities class spent the day at the Pacific Science Center where they viewed an IMAX presentation of Ancient Greece and experienced the fascinating Pompeii exhibit.This trip was made possible by a grant from the Raymond Schools Foundation. WOW! We done good! The Willapa Harbor Lions Club Paper Shack made the move to the Hwy 101 Quick Stop, Chevron Station without a hitch. It happened with a lot of volunteer help. The Village came together and will be operating soon out of the new location.
Lady Liberty has been hijacked but still standing in the same place; but instead of holding the torch of liberty, she is hiding her face in shame and saying give me your cheap labor!
I have been receiving questions and comments regarding the City of South Bend sewer and water bills for some time. I would like to offer the following explanation of how the water and sewer funds are managed. Sewer and water department funds are "proprietary" funds.

The Willapa Harbor Golf Course has a new General Manager and resident Club Pro who invites all players to a tournament that will be held on March 28.
The Lewis County Coroner's Office (LCCO) and the Chehalis Police Department (CPD) are asking for the public's assistance in trying to locate next of kin for the skeletal remains found in the wooded area off Kresky Avenue in Chehalis on Feb. 24.
The decedent has been identified as Sara Candice, age 56, from the Twin City area. All attempts by the LCCO and CPD to locate next of kin have been unsuccessful.

Baseball Association Meets Monthly
The Willapa Harbor Baseball Association conducts monthly board meetings on the fourth Sunday of the month at 6 pm. at the PUD Meeting Room in historic downtown Raymond. The public is cordially invited.
