The Winlock Timberland Library has announced their second annual poetry contest with writers encouraged to begin preparing submissions for next month.
Open to all area residents, the purpose of the contest is to celebrate April as National Poetry Month, as well as provide an opportunity for writers of all ages and skill levels to develop and publish their work.

The Lewis County Sheriff's Office has begun investigating the death of an 8-month-old Toledo boy after the child reportedly stopped breathing at his residence on Wednesday evening.
Deputies responded around 8:30 p.m. to a residence on the 200 block of Foster Creek Rd., south of Toledo, as local EMS responders were performing CPR on the child.
