SOUTH BEND -- The Pacific County Prosecutor's Office has been approved to receive the STOP Violence Against Women Formula Grant for 2015. The STOP grant is intended to improve community response to violence against women and is awarded annually by the Department of Commerce through the Office of Crime Victims Advocacy.

SOUTH BEND - For many residents of Pacific County when they hear about the elected officials serving as Pacific County Commissioners, they see them only in the light of the elected title. The truth to the matter is that the commissioners serve a variety of positions that many are unaware of in their role as a Pacific County Commissioner. Across the three positions they hold, at least eight individual duties, as well as seven board positions for Pacific County. And it is a major misconception that they run the county.
The Washington Senate recently voted to approve bipartisan legislation that would ensure quality control for medical marijuana, level the business playing field, and keep the drug out of the hands of Washington's children and teens.
Raymond Council Meeting

The entire Raymond City Council was present for the March 2 Raymond City Council meeting that lasted 11 minutes. It would be the Executive Session that would last longer as the council went out to discuss labor negotiations after the regular meeting.
Clam diggers can return to two coastal beaches Monday (March 2) through Thursday (March 5) to dig razor clams during a month packed with potential digging opportunities.
The March 2015 American Legion calendar has arrived, and the schedule is as follows:

Baseball registrations were dropped off at Raymond, South Bend and Valley schools for those interested in baseball signups for ages 5-18.
