Winlock News 01.28.15

One thing nice about Winlock is the fact that neighbors help neighbors. In the city, you are lucky if you have even met your neighbors, and helping seems a foreign word to everyone.

I am lucky to have my sister as my number one neighbor but growing up we had great neighbors. If someone's cow's got out, we would all work together to get them back in. If there was a fence to mend, it wasn't unusual for the one to see the other one out there working on it and for the other person to join in. I can remember walking home after my car had run out of gas, who picked me up but my neighbor Orville. He was the kind of guy who didn't only pick me up but he went and put gas in my car to get me home.
