As the bus bumped along to Old San Juan, swerving the occasional vehicles that dipped into the bus lane and halting abruptly every few minutes at the various stops, all around me locals chatted amongst each other, laughing at jokes and oo-ing and aw-ing over little babies. The familiar conversation and easy exchanges reminded me of home.
