The Pacific County Commissioners are expanding the county’s outreach to area veterans. The Pacific County Veterans Relief Fund has been in place since 1984. Its purpose is to provide short term relief for indigent veterans living in Pacific County.

Pacific County has begun a three-year process of updating the Shoreline Master Plan (SMP). The plan, created in the 1970s for Pacific County, was last amended in 2003 and new state guidelines require it be updated by 2016. The county received a $478,260 grant from the state to complete the update.

The Pacific County 4-H Shooting Sports team tied for second in the state for the “Golden Gun” award in Eatonville on May 17 and 18. The competition included archery, shotgun, rifle, air pistol and 186 shooters participated.
The Willapa Players production, “My Three Angels,” by Sam and Bella Spewak, opens Friday, June 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Hannan Playhouse in Raymond. This play from the 1950’s has become a theater classic and was made into a movie starring Humphrey Bogart, Peter Ustinov, and Aldo Ray. The Willapa Players performed this same play in 1958 in the old Raymond High School auditorium. Jim Watts, one of the three original “angels” and Jim White are directing the current production
