Burton L. Rosgen, 55, of Ocean Park, was arrested for assault in the first degree after stabbing a man in the 25000 block of Vernon Avenue in Ocean Park. The Pacific County Sheriff’s Office arrested Rosgen at the scene and he was transported to Pacific County Jail in South Bend.

SOUTH BEND – In room 117 the kindergarten class of Ms. Spradlin at Chauncey Davis Elementary, had just returned from recess and had settled-in to listen to a story. With the kids all attentive and enthralled in the book, a small crackle came over the intercom at 10:17 a.m. on Oct. 17. Everyone stopped and perked up their ears as the voice uttered…“We are in an earthquake drill.”
WILLAPA HARBOR – This coming election Willapa Harbor Port Commissioner District No. 3, a non-partisan six-year term position, is open with the retirement of Larry Topping.
The Willapa Harbor Herald was able to spend a few minutes with each candidate to discuss their reasons for running for the position and the top concerns they have for the Port of Willapa Harbor.
Mayor of South Bend
The City of South Bend has agreed to purchase 171 acres north of the Willapa River, including and around the site of its former wastewater treatment plant, from Weyerhaeuser for $148,000.
Raymond walloped Naselle 55-16 Friday in a road Pacific League contest. The Seagulls ran for 370 yards, including 160 by Darol Ratsavongsy. The talented halfback scored 3 touchdowns while helping the Gulls improved to 6-1 overall and 4-0 in the league. Ratsavongsy scored on runs of 24, 26 and 67 yards – all in the first half.
