The PUD Board of Commissioners and General Manager Doug Miller met ratepayers in Raymond Monday night to discuss the proposed Tokeland extension project.
When asked what the purpose of the project is, Miller explained that one reason for the project is it will include hooking up transmission lines to Grays Harbor PUD, increasing reliability throughout the county.

MENLO – Brad Donovan of Willapa Valley High School has been selected as a Washington State Employee’s Credit Union (WSECU) Teacher of the Week. He was recognized at the Mariner’s game on Sunday along with 23 other Washington teachers who were chosen throughout the summer. They are each receiving $500 grants to put towards their classroom.

Rayce Newman hooked up with Hunter Borden on a 27-yard scoring play late in the fourth quarter to propel Raymond to a 27-21 victory over host Tenino Friday night. Trailing 21-19, Raymond converted on 3rd down and 8 for the winning score.

SOUTH BEND – The South Bend School District budget is set for expenditures of $6,985,917 for approximately 500 students throughout the 2013-14 school year. An assortment of changes, including new grants for an after school program, one more kindergarten class, and new teachers are in store for this year.

Thursday, September 12th will be the last of three cross county meetings set up by our PUD to sell their multi-million dollar Grayland buyout plan. Without our three county weekly papers, Willapa Harbor Herald, South Beach Bulletin, and Chinook Observer’s coverage, these three meetings would never have been held. But is this the end?
