A Toledo man scheduled to go to trial later next month for drug distribution will instead be serving hard time after accepting a plea bargain from the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office in court this morning.
Lake A. Gregson, 23, had been arrested Feb. 16 after members of the South Lewis County Task Force investigated him as a mid-level meth distributor, using a confidential informant to make controlled drug buys during January and February. Based on the buys and on evidence collected during his arrest, prosecutors had been seeking charges of three counts of delivery of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of explosives without a license. Gregson could have faced as much as 50 years in prison if convicted on all counts, but instead was given 40 months after pleading guilty to the first four counts today.
