The Willapa Harbor community responded in a big way for Caleb Doyle and his family at the 5K Run/Walk benefit Saturday morning at the Carriage Museum/Public Market. A silent auction with several generously donated items brought in a lot of money to help pay for some of Caleb’s astronomical medical bills. Perhaps the best thing about Saturday’s event was that Caleb was there to see his friends and give thanks to all that have stood behind him through his recuperation process. He handed out medals to some of the participants and greeted friends and well-wishers.

Sparks fly at P.U.D. meeting

Once again a handful of citizens criticized he P.U.D. Commissioners for voting in high pay raises for management positions and more questions were delivered about a wrecked manlift that happened several years ago.

Present at the meeting were General Manager Doug Miller, Jim Finlay, P.U.D. Attorney; Commissioners Mike Swanson (District 1), Diana Thompson (Dist. 2) and Ron Hatfield (Dist. 3), and Secretary-Treasurer Jeanne Ledford.
