Lady Indians win at Naselle; boys third

 

NASELLE – The South Bend girls opened the track and field season with a win at the soaking-wet six-team Naselle Invitational last Thursday. The boys placed third of seven teams.

Sophomore Emily Sanchez and junior Kathryn Staats won two individual events each for the Lady Indians. Sanchez also anchored the winning 400 and 800-meter relay races. Sanchez crossed the finish line first in the 400 meters and won the long jump. Staats won the shot put and javelin.

Raymond boys and girls finish second at own meets

The Raymond boys and girls finished second at their own invites to open the track and field season last Thursday at Seagull Track. Rayce Newman won three solo events for the Seagulls and Hannah Dykes won two individual events for the Lady Seagulls. Northwest Christian won both the boys and girls team titles.
