Volunteers needed at Seaport museum

Interested in he Civil War, seaport logging history, ship's silver, lighthouses, or maybe pirates? The Willapa Seaport Museum is looking for a few good volunteers to be on deck once a week for a four-hour watch from noon until 4 p.m.

Spring sports opens Thursday; RHS hosts meet

Spring sports go full throttle this week with golf and all three track and field teams opening the season Thursday. The linksters hit the road to Lacey for a match hosted by Northwest Christian. Raymond hosts a track meet where Willapa Valley will also attend, and South Bend ventures to Naselle and then heads to Rainier Saturday.

Law enforcement from around Pacific County recently participated in a training called, Controlled Party Dispersal/Source Investigation, presented by national trainer, RJ Elrick from the Underage Drinking Enforcement Training Center (UDETC).

We tend to think of a harpist as a delicate 5’2” attired in flowing chiffon. At 6’2”,  Bronn Journey isn’t your typical harpist. He has been called the Victor Borge of the harp and takes a  humorous approach to an instrument most people think of as a  seriously classical one. Katherine, his lovely wife of the glorious voice, has often been compared to Sarah Brightman. Together they put on delightful performance.
