In an effort to reduce the number of unwanted kittens in our area, beginning March 1, HAVA is sponsoring a special spay/neuter program for cats of low-income individuals only. The first 50 applications along with proof of income and a $20.00 fee will be eligible.
In 2012, aprons took center stage at the Sewing Building during a new competition at the Pacific County Fair. Half a dozen local people won prizes for aprons entered in this first-time contest, with winners determined by popular vote.

Mayor Bob Jungar and council members Jason Dusnmoor, Vicki Flemetis, Ian Farrell, Ray Robinson, and Randy Flemetis were present for the regularly scheduled city council meeting on Feb. 4 in council chambers. Councilwomen Dee Roberts and Betty Sovereign were absent. Officers present were Police Chief Chuck Spoor, Acting Fire Captain Gary Schwiesow, Public Works Director M. Dean Parsons, and Clerk-Treasurer Hester Gilleland.
A daughter, Peityn Sophia Rask, was born January 2, 2013 at Capital Medical Center to Lisa and Derek Rask of Raymond. She weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces.
