joke; nope he is serious. The president wants families to develop a budget and get their financial affairs in order… great. His national debt is 16.7-plus Trillion. He is two months late with his budget, and reports that it’s not that important. How can anyone take this fool seriously? But, not to worry, he is our leader. What kind of an image does this show to our enemies? I’m sure he will soon take another trip to ask for more taxes on the rich.
In Pacific County, where near 50 percent of all wages are received by “government agencies,” (Yes, there are 53 government agencies in Pacific County.) When one realizes that each government employee represents a debt to our economy, this is why Pacific County is stuck in neutral, or going backwards. Remember, government creates debt, only business creates wealth and jobs. Each government employee makes on the average at least twice the wage of the private worker supporting him or her. But more important, too many of these employees are busy creating regulations that are stopping any growth. With businesses and wealthy people under attack, don’t expect much to change until there is a change in leadership at all levels of government.
Change must start with us, the local citizens. Pacific County citizens keep electing too many persons to state, local, and taxing districts that are not intellectually qualified, and are in their positions for the wrong reason, not to serve us, but them, i.e., Port of Willapa, PUD #2, to name just two.
So, until we can correct our local condition, we can’t expect to affect the top of the government food chain.
I observe nationwide that businesses are moving from states of high taxes and numerous regulations to states that welcome business with low taxes and reasonable regulations.
That is a message to us. Vote for change.
