For children, “We try to have a children’s program at least once a month, whether it is a paid performer or a Timberland program,” said Emily Popovich, library manager. “We have regular story times on Wednesday mornings from fall through spring, and pajama story time once a month on Tuesday evenings.”

During the summer, kids are offered a craft activity once a month as well as periodic guessing jars. “Summer reading is our biggest program, with things to do Wednesday, Thursday and Friday throughout the summer.”

Teen programs are offered at least twice a year and adult programs quarterly. An adult book group meets second Thursday of each month except August. An adult winter reading program is available January through March, and Family Read Aloud March and April.

“Each October we support Timberland Reads Together, in which one book is chosen for the entire district to read and discuss. We have programs that relate to the book as well.”

Other annual events include Money Smart Week, Pumpkin Carving, and Prepare in a Year. Popovich also offers a variety of computer classes to individuals and groups.

An online calendar displays all Timberland events and can be narrowed down to Raymond activities. It can be found at www.TRL.org.

Locally, check out the Raymond Library in person at 507 Duryea Street, or by phone at 942-2408. Library hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Friday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
