My support is based on many years working with him and observing his behavior both at work and during intensely divisive county contract negotiations. It was Mike’s careful and thoughtful work, which helped to disarm this situation.

My family and I have lived in Pacific County for 30 years. I worked most of these years in positions, which are directly impacted by elected commissioners. There have been both troubled times and productive times over the years. Some commissioners have instinct and personal resources to create a positive working relationship with the people they serve. I believe Michael Hess has what it takes.

Mike Hess is an intelligent, thoughtful man who takes into account the situation that needs to be addressed. He will listen with an open mind and research the issues with a passion for truth. He will look at all sides of an issue and stay away from talk, which may justify one side to the detriment of the whole. Mike’s thinking is objective and detailed.

It is common knowledge that some in the current administration are unable to be objective, especially concerning public employees who constitute a large measure of financial and public responsibility. Pacific County needs roads and maintenance, code enforcement, public health, taxation and assessment property records, to name a few. I am concerned with all these areas, but most particularly in public safety. Emergency management and law enforcement (deputies, corrections, courts and prosecution) are critical to a safe environment for our citizens and the tourists who help support this economy. 911 and non-emergency communication systems which respond to law enforcement requests also protect the public from fire and medical emergency. Lisa Ayers has demonstrated she is not interested in investigating the benefits public employees bring to the county and its coffers, and frankly not interested in, or respectful of, the people who serve.

Michael Hess understands and values the people who work to keep Pacific County a safe and welcoming place for its citizens as well as the thousands who travel here to enjoy this beautiful area.

I believe in Michael Hess. I believe due to my work history with him that he is a person with a profoundly strong work ethic and a sense of integrity to find the truth and act accordingly. He is not only a very smart man, but also a kind thoughtful one. I trust him. I will vote for Mike Hess. I hope that you will, too.
