Winlock schools are asking for your help in gathering supplies! From Monday, Aug. 26, to Friday, Aug. 30, there will be a bus parked in front of their district office (which is located between the elementary school and the preschool). Their goal is to stuff the bus full of school supplies. If you’re interested in donating, you can drop items off in the bus between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Every little bit helps! The new school year is just around the corner, guys!
Zumba, the dance classes that are taking this town by storm, are still taking place at the Olequa Senior Center on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6 p.m. For the over-50 crowd, the cost for 20 sessions is $30, and $40 for the under-50 crowd. The center is currently searching for instructors for other exercise classes as well. If interested in Zumba or in teaching similar classes, please contact the library at (360) 785-4325.
And just a reminder…the Food Bank is still scheduled for Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. They’re located behind the old Sack’s building on 1st Ave.
This week’s featured artist for the upcoming ARTrails Studio Tour is Colleene Anne Little. The founder of Little Creations Pottery, Colleene produces teapots, coffee mugs, tableware, holiday decorations, and garden art from her own studio in Castle Rock, which she’s been running for over a decade. "Whimsical in nature, my pieces are about design and color. Everything I create is something that makes me happy," Colleene describes her work. If you’re interested in learning more about her, her pottery will be shown at Grand Prairie Designs on 193 Roth Road of Winlock for the tour, or you can visit her website at www.littlecreationspottery.com.
