Congratulations to Azhia Camps for winning the Egg Day button art contest. The buttons features the logo Eggs-Perience Winlock with a picture of a chicken with the coop building in the back. It looks to me like the chicken is standing in the Worlds Largest Egg, it's a truly cool looking button once I realized where the location of the chicken is. You will get a chance to have your own once the Egg Day Princesses start to sell them.
Don't forget the Winlequa Senior Center will be having a watercolors painting class starting in March and also a quilting class will start on March 25th at 1:30. Remember to bring your own supplies for the quilting class. If you have any questions, please give the center a call at (360) 785-4325.
The Senior Center also has their weekly classes, on Monday and Wednesday evenings there is Zumba. Tuesdays at noon come on down and enjoy a hand of pinochle. I can remember my parents playing pinochle many nights with all of their friends and they loved it so much. Cribbage is played on Wednesdays at 1:30 and Bingo is at 12:30pm. There is always a fun activity at the Senior Center so if you are a little bored sitting around the house then go down and enjoy the wonderful volunteers at the center. I have known Gary and Joanne Parkinson all of my life and you won't find two nicer volunteers anywhere, they are just downright good people.
Winlock School District has early release on Feb. 18th.
Feb. 17th: Middle School Basketball vs Toutle Lake @ 5 p.m., Winlock Middle School Gym
Feb. 20th: Winlock Miller Elementary has their Jump Rope for heart from 9-2:45 p.m.
I was cruising the FaceBook page "You know you're from Winlock When" and one of the members was talking about the roller coaster road. So for those of you who are new to the area we have a road that we have called the roller coast road for decades. If you get a free minute and want to have some fun, drive out on the Tennessee road, you will find an area that is just like a roller coaster. I have been taken my friends who have never been to Winlock there since I can remember and my Dad also takes his friends out there. It's a fun road to drive and the scenery is beautiful.
