They did it, the last game the Seahawks played was “phenomenal”; that’s what I was told when I asked someone what they thought of the game. The Seahawks are on their way to the Super Bowl, they did it! I can remember the last time they made it and the disappointment around Seattle the next day. It should have been a day of mourning, everyone was in black and the only thing anyone talked about was the game. This time it’s going to be different, the day after I will be in Winlock where we have pride in everything we do, whether we win or lose, we made it to the Super Bowl!!!!
I am excited to have the “Get to know ya” series divided in to a two part section this time. I know it’s the first time I have done this but it’s the first time we have someone from the Winlock School District and Shannon Criss is the first person. She is the Superintendent and from what I have heard, she is an excellent Superintendent!
TC: What is your idea of perfect happiness?
SC: Harmony with life. I love my job and my family. When I take care of my physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual self – the rest falls in to place.
TC: Where were you born?
SC: I was born in Ephrata Washington. My family moved 19 times while I was in school so we never stayed one place long. My husband was born in Tacoma Washington. He also moved a lot as a child; as a result, we made a commitment to raise our kids in one community, so we stayed 22 years in Ephrata before moving to the gorgeous Westside.
Next week, we will finish with the answers to the tough questions. I know I was touched by her answers I hope everyone else will be as well!!

Finally, I have been hanging out around the house a lot lately and I am sure many of you experience this with your fun feline. Why does our mouser need to bring them in for me to see? I know she is a good mouser, no doubt about it but I don’t plan on keeping them! She has been bringing them in and playing with them, ya, I don’t need to watch, I get it, you are Queen Mouser! Now take that dead mouse out of my house!!!
