We're all sort of re-grouping following the holidays, and whether it was an avalanche of family and friends or a quiet time for one or two, it's hard to escape the frenzy entirely.

We still have to work, shop, get to appointments, and do what we need to do on a daily basis; and we've seen the crowds of folks running around being busy, busy, busy. Sometimes just the activity surrounding us can be taxing.

However, chances are that 2015 is coming (like I said, "obvious statements") and much of the new year will present the same need for information as did 2014. It may not be exactly the same information, but we all need to know what we need to know. Part of life, and the days of being able to shut our eyes, stop our ears and hide in a cave are pretty much over -- at least for most of us.

As with a lot of other folks, we strive to stay current so we can provide useful information and assistance. A recent example of this is our updated website (www.03a.org). I realize the address is always listed at the end of the column, but sometimes we read the body of a column and then move on to other things. So, let's take a look at what you can find there -- and note that the Facebook links and info are also at the site.

At the opening page, the top scrolls through: Programs We Offer (SHIBA, Senior Legal Clinics and others noted below), Family Caregiver Support Program, Kinship Care Program and Frequently Asked Questions. You can hit the link for more detail on any of those. (Also keep in mind that we partner with other agencies for specific need areas. For example if you hit the link on the left side of the home page "Information & Assistance", you'll see we also provide case management for in-home care programs.)

Moving down from the above link you'll see:

  • Resources for Caregivers (Family Caregiver Support, Kinship Care, Homecare Referral, etc)

  • Events Calendar (Like it sounds -- what's coming up)

  • News & Publications (various columns, etc)

  • Resources & Links (A ton of other sites and the O3A Online Resource Center)

  • FAQ's (same as mentioned above and always a favorite)

And this is all just an introduction. You can dig as deep as you want to and find as much detail as you wish -- probably, since I don't know how detail-oriented you are. You'll also see links that tell how to contact each of our offices in Clallam, Jefferson, Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties.

Exploring this site can save you a lot of time and can also help you define what exactly you're looking for. And, if you prefer talking to a live person, you can always give us a call -- even if you have already navigated the website.

Let us know what you think. Let us know if we can assist in some way. Let us work out all this stuff together and see what we can make of 2015.
