Volunteer park clean-up day in Winlock

Winolequa Park in Winlock

The Winlock Parks Board is hosting a park spring cleaning community event at Winolequa park. The event will take place on Saturday, May 22, and is an open house from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This is open to anyone in the community who wants to volunteer some of their time to help beautify and prepare the Winolequa Park for Egg Day and other summer gatherings.

Bring whatever project tools you have or just yourself and your own two hands. It's a great chance to meet the members of the park board. Refreshments will be available. In the past, this has been a fun event and I don't expect anything different this year.

Kirsten Stalnaker is the Park Board Chairwoman and stated, "I have a great team of people on the board. Two specifically moved to the area, and the other is a lifelong local. I myself grew up in the area. Everyone is active in the community with a love and passion for this place. We are a brand new board mostly and have spent last winter hashing out a direction for the parks in Winlock. We have a vision, which is the easy part, but I have full confidence that with this board, we can see them come to fruition. Our goal is to continue the progress and build on the fine work of previous board members and other volunteers. These parks are as much by the community, as they are for the community."

Please join in keeping our parks beautiful.
