City Landscaping – The City of Toledo removed the soil that was growing weeds around the fish sculpture and recycled that dirt to fill the five black culvert boxes at the boat launch parking area. The culverts were then wrapped in wood logs and a tree planted in each.
The Toledo Community Library should be up and running by mid-August. The hours will be Wednesdays from 10am to 7pm, Thursdays from 10am to 5pm, and Saturdays from 10am to 2pm.
The Toledo Girls Softball Association is working to bring two fields up to standards so they can be used by a growing number of kids. Britni Korpi is requesting help with volunteer work. Her husband Kevin Korpi has organized the drainage project scheduled to begin August 3rd. The goal is to have 2 fully functioning fields by next spring.
The 4th annual Toledo Steelhead Fishing Derby, begins Saturday, July 26, and starts at dawn with the weigh-in ending at 4pm sharp. There will be cash prizes and lots of give-a-ways. Also on the 26th, The New Life Assembly will hold their annual Summerfest event again this year.

The 50th Cowlitz Prairie Grange Threshing Bee will be held Aug. 22 through 24. The Double Back Band is scheduled to perform and there will again be the ever popular kid's Money Dive into a pile of hay laced with money.
The themes of the two festivals will be featured at the Music and Machines show at Gallery 505 for the month of August. Opening night is set for August 8, 5 to 9 pm.
