Have you ever thought of being a Trooper? Washington State Patrol recruiters are actively looking for motivated and qualified men and women for the position of Trooper Cadet.

Testing for the position of Trooper Cadet has four phases:
- Phase 1 - physical fitness test and written examinations
- Phase 2 - oral board interview in front of a panel of experienced troopers.
- Phase 3 - polygraph examination and a thorough background investigation.
- Phase 4 - psychological examination, interview with our department psychologist, and a medical examination.
After successfully passing all four phases, you will be offered a position as a trooper cadet and assigned to a paid field position. Field cadets gain valuable experience, while preparing to attend the 26-week Trooper Basic Training Class at the WSP Academy in Shelton.
