The Lewis County Annual Veterans Day Parade was held Saturday, and many groups were on hand to show their support for our area's veterans.
Also on Saturday, the Wheels of Boom Car Club, Grocery Outlet of Fife, non-profit Helping Heroes, and many others helped 30 families receive their holiday meal. Each family received a turkey and/or a ham, all the trimmings, and a pumpkin pie for dessert.
These organizations also donated $1,050 to the Winlock/Vader Food Bank. Winlock City Council Member Holly Orbino was on hand to accept the meals and the cash donation on behalf of the Winlock/Vader Food Bank. The cash donation should assist another 30 families with holiday meals.
Thank you to all who donated and to those who helped coordinate this effort. More families will be fed this year because of your efforts. Winlock is a great community, and we continue to show everyone why we love living here by helping our own.
