A recent string of Honda-related thefts in Vader has yet to slow down as a fourth car has been reported stolen from the area since March.

The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office reports a 1988 Honda Accord with license plate 322-ZAB was stolen sometime between 5 p.m. May 3 and 10 a.m. May 4 from the 100 block of Spring Ct., in the Enchanted Valley neighborhood. The neighbor of the victim reported her car had also been targeted by the thieves as well, but was likely not taken due to its dead battery.

Additionally, after the theft of the Accord, deputies recovered a stolen Honda Civic from the same neighborhood, believed to have been left behind by the thieves. The owner of the Civic, a Kelso woman, was reportedly contacted and the vehicle was returned to her.

This theft joins a string of crimes including the theft of a 1993 Honda Civic stolen from the 900 block of B St. between March 23 and 24, a 1993 Honda Prelude stolen from the 900 block of D St. on March 14, and a 1992 Honda Accord stolen from the 900 block of 10th St. on March 6, as well as the prowling of a 1994 Honda Accord on the 100 block of Alpine Ct. on March 6.

The Sheriff’s Office advises all car owners to not leave valuables in their vehicle and make sure their doors are locked and, if possible, to park their car in a well-lit area.
