The Country Cruisers Car Club is selling pre-cut Christmas trees at Mt. St. Helens Grocery on SR 506. Be sure to stop by and help support this local fundraiser.
On your way, take time to admire the Christmas display at Andy Wilson's house (you can't miss it). Andy and his family worked hard in recent weeks to set up the display as a means of celebrating both the holiday and the community.

City Hall has passed their 2015 budget and it looks like, according to preliminary estimates, Vader may be ending 2014 with another surplus in their general fund. To date, the city is still around $20,000 below projected law enforcement costs, among other accounts well in the black, leading to more funding expected to be allocated for parks, roads, capital improvements and other services next year. Nothing is yet finalized, though more is expected to be reported on this topic during upcoming City Council meetings.
The next meeting of the Vader City Council will not be held until next month, on Jan. 8, because their last meeting in December would have fallen in Christmas Day, and has subsequently been cancelled. For more information call City Hall at (360) 295-3222.
