On January 14th, 2016 at about 1730 hours, Aberdeen Police Officers responded to a fire at the Aberdeen Hotel. When Officers arrived on scene, the fire was in Room #208. The room was not occupied at the time. A short time later, Aberdeen Officers were dispatched to Wal-Mart for someone setting rags on fire in the Wal-Mart. The Aberdeen Officers on scene were able to access video of the inside of the store and identify the suspect. Officers were then advised of someone lighting fires in the Goodwill store located next door to Wal-Mart. The Aberdeen Officers responded to the Goodwill Store. The Officers were able to tie the female suspect to all three fires and began a search for her. A short time later, officers located the 35 year old white female on Wishkah Street in front of Taco Bell. She was placed under arrest and booked into the Aberdeen City Jail without incident. The suspect had changed clothes during the incident.
The suspect was interviewed this morning and will be transferred to the Grays Harbor County Jail for arraignment on 4 counts of Arson .
There was a fourth Arson at an apartment on H Street in Aberdeen a short time before the other fires were started. It was later tied to the same suspect.
Wal-Mart is estimating damages at about $4,000. The Goodwill estimated damages at less than $20.
