Monday at 4:37 am, Pacific County Fire District 3, along with Raymond Fire Department responded to the report of a house on fire at 442 Ward Creek Road. Upon arrival, crews found a single story single family dwelling fully involved; with the lone resident safely outside with her dog.
The occupant of the house was awakened to the sound of the smoke alarm going off. When the resident exited her bedroom, she found the kitchen to be fully involved with fire.
Pacific County Fire District 3 responded with two engines and one water tender along with an ambulance and support unit from Raymond Fire. There were 11 firefighters on the scene. Without working smoke detectors in the home, the outcome of this fire could have had a different result. The smoke detector that was in the house most likely saved her life. Smoke detectors save lives.
