The Willapa Valley seventh grade class has been working on a project called "Sunflower Houses" in Mr. Bannish and Mr. Ege's science class. This project was introduced the school four years ago by Darlene Smith, who plants the top few houses on her property.

The students draw a design on a piece of graph paper (1 square is a foot), figure how many seeds they need (2 seeds per foot); they find the best price, finalize all their answers, and make a folder to present their sunflower house.

This year they wanted to thank the three companies, including Twilley's seeds, Harris Seeds, and Johnny's for donating their catalogs to the seventh grade class each year. They took a picture of the class holding their designs and the catalogs to send each of the companies a special thank you from the Willapa Valley seventh grade class.
