While I didn't attend this year's Thanksgiving Community Dinner, I heard more than 100 people attended. Talk about fun, food and fellowship! It gets real quiet once the food has been served.
The Red Hats ladies will get all decked out in their red and purple on Thursday and head down to Parker's Restaurant in Castle Rock for lunch and Decoration Exchange. They will leave from the Café at noon.
Friday's dinner at the Café will be Lasagna served with green salad, tortellini soup and French bread. Beverage and dessert are included for $9. Call Linda at (360) 295-0875 by Wednesday to make reservations.
A new month means a new Town Breakfast coming up on Saturday. The guys will serve up the very best in breakfast fare; and the orange juice and bottomless coffee are always included. This is a major fund-raising source for our veterans' groups and those funds are re-invested in our Community. Another reason dues are only $35 per month.
Tuesday's Senior Nutrition lunch will be Meatloaf with baked potato, carrots & corn, fruit salad and cake & ice cream. This is the week that the students from Castle Rock High School come to help serve. The meals are a real bargain at $3. Call me at (360) 295-3813 or (360) 355-7315 by 6 p.m. on Monday to make or break reservations.
The RWCS ladies will present the Christmas program at the Toledo Presbyterian Church on Thursday, Dec. 11 - contact Carol at (360) 295-3799 for details. They will report on their Operation Christmas Child Project, made possible with the proceeds of their semi-annual Bake Sales. The group delivered an all-time high of 47 boxes this year.
Terry asks me to let folks know that there won't be any Open Mic evenings in December. What with everything else that is going on plus the cold weather, it seems like a good idea to cancel.
Until next week...
