While I don’t have menus for the Café dinner on Friday February 1st or the Senior Nutrition Lunch on Tuesday the 5th, I’ll be there. While I have my share of faults, “picky eater” is not one of them…
Saturday morning, February 2nd, means it’s time to drive out to the end of SR 506 (I-5 exit # 59) for this month’s VFW Town Breakfast. for the likes of light and fluffy pancakes, eggs “anyway you like ‘em”, grilled ham, biscuits and sausage gravy. Orange juice and bottomless coffee are always included.
“The Nest” (Ryderwood’s gift shop where everything is made by someone who lives in Ryderwood) will be open early that day. It is a fantastic place to check out special goodies for Valentine’s Day.
Other things going on this week include:
The first of 2 joint Fire Drills this month will be at 8 a.m. on Sunday the 3rd in Vader. Sunday activities at the Ryderwood Community Church begin with “Discovery Class” at 9:30 a.m. in the Annex followed by “Sunday Services” in the Sanctuary at 11 a.m. Our beautiful and historical non-denominational church is open to all.
The final thing planned for Sunday is the first Ice Cream Social and Card Bingo at 6 p.m. in Community Hall. Ice cream and cake comes first with Card Bingo (it’s a lot of fun!) starting about 6:30.
In the food department, Monday offers Burgers & Soup at the Café from 4-6 p.m. and Tuesday is “Nutrition Lunch” at noon in Community Hall. (Sounds good to me!)
Special Event – all are invited: The Castle Rock All-State Concert Band & Chorus and their Jazz Band will perform in Ryderwood’s Auditorium at 5:30 on Tuesday afternoon. The rave reviews I heard last year insures I won’t miss this year’s concert!
