Don’t miss out on this weekend’s Town-Wide Garage Sales – that’s Friday & Saturday from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Along with the Women’s Club Super Sale at Pioneer Hall, neighborhood sales will be set up all over town. Maps of known sales will be available inside Community Hall and on the porches of the Café and Library.
Coffee and snacks will be available at the Café in the morning along with the VFW’s finest jumbo dogs and "fixin’s" at Community Hall from 10 a.m. 2 p.m. Meanwhile, don’t miss out on the fine arts, crafts and gift items available at "The Nest", located in the southwest corner of "the Hall".
Road signs for the Sales have been placed around by volunteer organizers and are excellent reminders for local motorists. These, along with well-placed flyers, should clear up any confusion about the dates since there are five Saturdays this month. I’m not certain, but I think the Old-Timers Picnic ("always" on the last Sunday of August) originally determined the weekend of the Sales.
What that means is the 2013 Ryderwood Old-Timers Picnic will be this Sunday at Ryderwood’s beautiful Park. Like all reunions, the group gets smaller every year. It might be worth our while to drop by to see what kind of old-time music and campfire tales we might hear…
This is "music weekend" at the Café: Acoustic Saturday Night with Paul on Saturday at 7 p.m. and Karaoke with Sherry on Monday at 6:30 p.m. Performers and audience alike love these fun evenings!
Get your early tickets for the "Wrinkles of Washington" (WOW!) performance ASAP as the 200-person limit is sure to sell out early. Check them out on YouTube! Tickets are available at the Café, "The Nest" or call Linda at (360) 295-0875 or Jerre at (360) 295-3788.
