To get the meeting off to a swift start, the whole consent agenda was passed at once. Included in the consent agenda were a bundle of "road haul agreements and permits" that were bond continuations for the Department of Public Works.
For the Health and Human Services Department, the Board approved an amendment to a contract with the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Southwest Washington that is getting started here in Pacific County.
An amendment was approved for the County Fair Board maintenance manager employment.
The board confirmed the sheriff's signature on two items, one regarding behavioral health for the provision of school and community based drug and alcohol prevention strategies, and one regarding state parks and boating safety.
Last on the consent agenda was the reappointment of Health and Human services council members, and the approval of vendor claims for $370,626.16.
Jim Simpson of the Department of Public Works was recognized for his 15 years of service after the consent agenda was finished. The board then approved a request to advertise the two vacant budgeted RMT II positions, and one traffic control/maintenance position for the Department of Public Works.
The Pacific County Commissioners then moved to approve a request to have Alex Gerow appointed to the vacant accountant position for the Pacific County Auditor's office. The auditor's office also was approved to post a vacant Administrative Assistant position to be filled.
Finally, the board approved the adoption of Resolution 2015- 006 to create the Pacific County Veterans Advisory Board along with the appointment of members to be on the board.
The next Pacific County Commissioner's meeting will be at the Pacific County Courthouse annex in South Bend, on February 10 at 9 am.
