Directed by local Dave Lund, he has brought this campy look at a live theater production gone wrong and presented it in a way that is most appealing for the intimate audience seating at the Hannan Playhouse.

The play, written by Rick Abbot, a pen name for prolific playwright Jack Sharkey (1931-1992), is done is three acts that carry the audience through a fairly fanciful fraught of frolicking performers all trying to withstand the actions of an overly ambitious playwright.

Heidi Stonebraker plays director Geraldine Dunbar, who is attempting to keep the performance on track as the cast and production crew continue to be derailed by a haughty playwright, Phyllis Montague, played by JoDean Jordan.

As they prepare for "Opening Night" (the conclusion of the play), the audience gets a deeper feeling for the behind the scenes drama on missteps that goes on in the creation of the murder mystery, Murder Most Foul, in the opening acts.

This show has it all, including on stage romance, plenty of avoirdupois innuendo, laughs, coffee, and of course a villain.

The stage evolves from early rehearsals on an unfinished set to the final curtain call where at least two of the actors require a little extra spirit to get them through the opening night.

The local cast includes Tanya Schiller, Matt Nordin, Brenda Crummett, Curt Harris, Quintin Swanson, Nicole Manlow, and Linda Anderson.

The show runs through this weekend with Friday and Saturday night performances.

Curtains go up at 7:30 pm.
