Our Government: "No They Can't"

Our country is viewed by the world as weak, and for sure history shows weakness leads to attacks. Today there are numerous nontraditional ways our nation can be attacked: cyber, electromagnetic pulse (EMP), Ebola, terrorist, illegal immigration...these types of attacks don't respect boarders, and we are in the battle field. Is this what the post WWII generations are leaving their children/grandchildren? In what has been called the greatest generation, the WWII generation, they left their children/grandchildren hope and opportunity. Our post WWII generations are leaving their children/grandchildren: debt, weakness, abortion, a welfare state, illegal immigration, lack of trust...wonderful. Lost in all the political correctness in the past few years is the attitude ...yes we can, we are America with a wonderful opportunity for all. We have too many "politically correct" apologists. A good definition of "politically correct"... 'a proposition that one can pick-up a turd by its clean end.'

Folks, we have a crises in government leadership, and it's not limited to a party, it's infected to many federal, state, and local elected officials. Take a good look at yourself; we are a part of the problem. For too long, people have been elected on what they will do for "me". Too many of our electorate are not well informed, and/or only care about what's in it for themselves. Our elected leaders have turned over the creation of regulation responsibilities to a fourth branch of government. Some call this: bureaucracy, statist, or the progressive movement. This has lead to a flood of regulations which eliminate jobs.

As our founding fathers said, "we have created a republic, which requires an informed and well educated public to keep it." Our government school system is failing our children; we spend more on education and fall further behind each year. By any objective measure "government" education is not preparing our children for the 21st Century, which requires the ability to solve problems; not just pass a government test, other nations are eating our lunch in this technology world.

Let Government do it? No they can't!
