Open Class Horses now at this year's Fair
The Pacific County Fair has added "open class horses" to the fair this year.
If you are between the ages of 8 and 108 and would like to exhibit your horse at the fair this year and participate in the horse shows during the week August 20, 21 & 22, stop by the fair office and pick up an open horse entry form and a fair premium booklet to help you decided what classes you want to ride in.
If you would rather just exhibit your horse at the fair and not participate in the horse show, you are welcome to do that as well. You will still need an entry form for this. Pick one up at the fair office.
All horses, whether riding in the shows during the week or just exhibiting, will need to arrive at the fairgrounds Tuesday August 19, time TBA.
Once you enter your horse into the fair, it becomes an "exhibit" of the fair and must remain at the fair until Sunday morning. Hauling out after the stalls and barn are cleaned.
Friday evening August 22, after all the performance classes and western gaming speed events have taken place there will be an awards ceremony for the open class participants.
There will be high point awards in the following the divisions: 8-10 yrs, 11-13 yrs, 14-17 yrs, 18 and over. High point Awards are sponsored by: Dr. John & Marlisa Dugan, Dugan Equine Hospital Roy.
Saturday, August 23: If you are unable to participate during the week with your horse, you can haul in Saturday morning and participate in the Trail Challenge held in the horse arena at the Pacific County Fair.
We will also be running speed events/barrel racing, pole bending, 2 barrel flag race, cal. stake and more after trail challenge.
There will be limited parking for horse trailers on Saturday, so you will need to pre-register for the Trail Challenge and gaming events. There will be no entry fee for Saturday events. Bring your horse and have fun!
