The Grays Harbor College Services Community Connect Project has started collecting for it's annual holiday toy drive at the Grays Harbor College campus. They are requesting donations for their toy drive. The donations will help many Grays Harbor College students with families whom otherwise may not be able to buy gifts for their children this holiday season. They are seeking various donations for children from ages 0-18, including toys and clothing.
In celebration of Thanksgiving and as a way to encourage healthy outdoor time, Mount Rainier and Olympic National Parks will offer free entry to all park areas on Friday, November 27.
There will be a Holiday Depression Workshop at the Aberdeen Timberland Library on Thursday, December 3 from 4pm to 5:30pm. The workshop will discuss things like warning signs for depression, stressors and tips to avoid them to make the holiday brighter.
"Bringing in the Yule Log" and a "Christmas Sing-Along" will be held Sunday, December 13 at 1pm at Schafer State Park 1365 West Schafer Park Road, Elma.
The children will hunt for a special log in the park and everyone will join together to pull it back to the fire in the community hall.
This will be followed by hot beverages, cookies, a warm fire, and Christmas music.
This annual event, to bring in the Christmas season, is sponsored by the Friends of Schafer and Lake Sylvia, and the State Park Staff.
Everyone is welcome to join us. A Discover Pass will be required and is available at the park.
