National Hospital Week is a celebration of our employees and physicians who have helped make our hospital the best it can be. Hospitals are people places. Fortunately, we have some of the very best. The Willapa Harbor Hospital Board of Commissioners, Administrator Carole Halsan and the Department Managers are extremely proud of each member of our staff and would like to recognize the important role they play in providing quality services to our patients.
On a historical note, this event was started in 1921 at the suggestion of a magazine editor who hoped a community wide celebration would alleviate public fears about hospitals.
Today, National Hospital Week is celebrated in every major city.
