Nancy Ann Stemkoski

Nancy Ann Stemkoski, 86, of Pe Ell, Washington, beloved wife, Mom, and friend of so many passed away on July 22, 2013,  in Pe Ell due to natural causes.

She was born to her late parents Virginia and Arthur Deskins, December 17, 1926, in Lebam, Washington. Nancy graduated from Lebam High School in 1944. She married the late John Stemkoski in 1945 and lived in Pe Ell all of her life.

Nancy was a homemaker and simply the best Mom that a child could have.  She loved her family and was loved in return. She had numerous friends who will miss her dearly.

Nancy was a Pe Ell United Methodist Church member and Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the Pe Ell Prairie Grange and the Rebekah Lodge. She was always volunteering to help others by serving Senior Citizen meals, supporting friends and family with their funerals and weddings, serving coffee at I-5 rest areas for the Kiwanis, assisting with Pe Ell Homecoming activities, and assisting the community wherever needed. She enjoyed dressing in costume (some unusual) while representing Pe Ell Homecoming in other community parades around Lewis County. The Kiwanis awarded her their “Citizen of the Year” in 1994 because of her extraordinary volunteering over the years.

Nancy is survived by four children: daughter Judi Patton of Puyallup, son John Stemkoski and wife Elaine of Winlock, son Jim Stemkoski and wife Lynn of Battle Ground, and Jan Stemkoski and wife Shelli of Chehalis. Seven grandchildren: Jody Stemkoski of Kalama, Jamie Stemkoski of Kelso, Katie Stemkoski  of Winlock, Dan Stemkoski of Fife, Ryan Stemkoski of Medical Lake, Ashley Stahl of Bucoda, and Kelsey Barr of Chehalis. Five great-grandchildren: Tanner, Blake, Gracie, Rayder, and Miller. Two siblings: brother Arthur Deskins of Pe Ell and sister Nina Georg of Elma.

A graveside service will be held on July 31, 2013, at 11:00 am at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pe Ell.  Minister Chuck Christin will officiate the service. A reception for family and friends will be held at the Pe Ell Methodist Church immediately after the service. Cattermole Funeral Home is handling funeral services.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Pe Ell United Methodist Church, 416 1st Street S, Pe Ell, Washington 98572.

The Stemkoski family thanks Colonial Residence at Centralia and Maple Street Manor at Pe Ell for their loving care during the last few years of her life.
