During his Mayor Comments section of the meeting he asked if anyone would volunteer to take his position on the Regional Wastewater Coordinating Committee. With no one able to take his next meeting due to their own scheduling conflicts, council member Ray Robinson will take the Mayor's place after the next Thursday RWCC meeting, and hold the position until someone permanent becomes available.
The public and members of the city were invited to join Mayor Jungar for cake and coffee on Oct. 15 and wish him well.
In items from the public, the next Ugly Ed's auction was granted their desire to vacate an area between Alder and Blake streets during the possible two-day event scheduled for Nov. 15 and 16. The council approved the request with little discussion. The road will be passable to traffic after the auction each day.
Public hearings will be setup for Resolution #1230; the council authorized the planning of the hearings and will provide media information as to when the hearings will be scheduled.
A Memo of Understanding (MoU) was tabled when that agenda items found its way into the meeting. Fire Chief Todd Strozyk brought the MoU for the 2015 Fire Union Contract before the council and there was much discussion. Without supporting documents in way of line item dollars and actual costs, the council, all but one, votes to table the discussion until the next meeting when the proper clarifying information would be provided.
After the tabling of the memo, department heads gave no reports other than to thank Mayor Jungar for serving. Each department head dittoed the other in their thanks.
The mayor responded with accolades to the various members that he had served with both as a council member and as Mayor for the past 13 years.
The next Raymond City Council meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 20 at 6 pm.
