Members and Supporters of Lions Club International march in the 41st annual Napavine Funtime Festival Parade Saturday as the Winlock Lions Club seeks to sponsor the formation of a club in the Napavine area. With seven members committed to joining and a prospective 15 having expressed an interest, the club is well on their way to gaining the 20 members needed to be given an official charter. District 19G Public Relations Officer and Winlock Lions Club member Bob Giardina said it is his club’s intention to begin canvassing local residents to raise awareness and support for the creation of a club, which he said would be titled the Napavine/Newakum Lions Club, to emphasize members do not have to be from Napavine Proper. Interested members are encouraged to visit the regular meetings taking place at Taste of Alaska family restaurant (114 E. Washington St., Napavine) at 8 a.m. on Wednesdays. Those with questions are encouraged to call Giardina at (360) 520-4565.
